This quilt was started last year for a class but not finished. Midnight At The Oasis by Jen Kingwell is another APQ project that I chose to work on at the retreat. Check out your favorite quilt shop to this great book. I will work on the project this month, but I chose another month’s project to work on that is more suited for a sewing retreat. After reading the pattern, I realized that the pieces are appliquéd by hand. The book, Parallel Lines by Pamela Dinndorf, is full of fun quilts that feature stripes. I picked up this book and kit at the Quiltmania Show in Nantes, France last April. Long Time Gone is by Jen Kingwell and you can get the pattern here.ĪPQ UFO Challenge from American Patchwork and Quilting – This month’s project is the Chain of Fools kit. I have 7 complete and 2 to use for instruction in class. Jacob’s Ladder has more pieces, but easy to construct. It requires lots of pinning and precise piecing. Above is Trip Around the World and, although easy, can be tough to piece. We will be making 2 blocks, Trip Around the World and Jacob’s Ladder. Month 2 of Long Time Gone class is coming up this Saturday at Sew Fabricated. If you have a stitch group that likes block exchanges, this is wonderful scrap buster! I hope you like! The pattern is available at Paper Pieces for purchase or download (if you want to sew right now!) Click here to get the Scrappy Anvil pattern. From each light/dark combo, you can get 2 Scrappy Anvil blocks, 2 large Half Square Triangle blocks and 8 Flying Geese blocks. ![]() The pattern called for Fat 1/8″s or 9″ x 22″ pieces of fabric, so your scraps will work great. ![]() I wrote the pattern for the shop and helped cut kits.
